Support for Owners to Remove High Risk Cladding
- High-risk cladding in residential apartment buildings across the state of New South Wales, will be removed due to a financial commitment by the NSW Government in the 2020-2021 Budget of $139 million.
- This is a milestone project being called, ‘Project Remediate’ that will last for three years.
- This project’s main goal will be to eliminate combustible cladding on hundreds of at-risk buildings across the state; this will ensure the safety of the community.
- Furthermore, the NSW Government have committed to pay the interest on loans by commercial lenders to building owners, to allow for effective and efficient removal of the unsafe cladding.
- This project will also generate and support employment within the construction industry with an estimate of 3500 jobs being created.
