Temporary Activity Visa (Subclass 408)

COVID-19 Pandemic Event visa is a temporary activity visa of subclass 408, and allows those on temporary visas to lawfully remain in Australia for up to either 6 months or 12 months. A 12-month visa may be granted to applicants who can provide proof of job offers or current employment in one of the seven key industries specified by the Australian government: 1. Agriculture 2. Food Processing 3. Healthcare 4. Aged Care 5. Disability Care 6. Child care 7. Tourism and Hospitality A 6-month visa may be granted to foreign workers in other sectors. *Caution: It is a condition of the visa that you cannot cease working for your employer within the length of the 408 visa without either leaving the country or applying for a more relevant visa for their needs.
